Rein Kooyman, born in 1992, is a Dutch freelance photographer. In 2013 he graduated at the Fotovakschool in Amsterdam, where he got inspired by the surrounding landscapes as well as the various people he met over time, especially musicians.
While gaining much experience in portrait and landscape photography he has developed his own distinguished signature on his work. After graduating he continued to work as a fulltime freelance photographer, becoming a household name as an event photographer in the Dutch club scene. During this period he got inspired by the musicians, artists and organizers he met and moved more towards portrait photography, working for musicians and artists as well as international companies such as Philips, Tommy Hilfiger and Stationary Team.
His commercial work gave him the opportunity to also pursue more personal and creative work, such as documentaries about traditional crafts and ways of living. Over the past year he has also extended his work towards high fashion photography. Within the variety in his work the recurring theme is simple: intimate stories and the people behind them.
Being only 24 he still has a whole career in front of him to make his mark, broaden his horizon and gain more experience.
